چکیده
Abstract Background The femoral component anteversion during surgery is traditionally assessed by a visual assessment of the surgeon and has proven to be imprecise. We sought determine accuracy digital protractor spirit level measure stem cementless THA. Methods A prospective study was conducted among 107 patients (114 hips) who underwent primary THA via posterolateral approach. pipe with attached tibial tubercle intermalleolar midpoint. While leg held perpendicularly floor, estimated 3 methods: method assessment; B alone; C combined level. angles were compared true measured postoperative CT scan. Results average (22.8° ± 6.9°, range -2° 40°) significantly lower than (24.6° 5.2°, 0° 30°) (p=0.033), but not different from (22.1° 8.2°, -5.4° 43.1°) (p=0.445). There no significant differences between (23.2° -4° 45°) A, or anteversion. mean deviation intraoperative estimation 0.8° 3.7° (range -7.1° 8.0°) C; 1.2° 5.1° -8.8° 14.3°) B; 2.5° 7.4° -19.0° 16.0°) A. Estimation error within 5° found in hips (93.9%) 86 (75.4%) 59 (51.8%) Conclusion Accurate can determined intraoperatively use Trial registration Thai Clinical Trials Registry ( TCTR 20180326003 ). Background: Femoral stem anteversion during hip arthroplasty is generally estimated by eye intraoperatively and hasproven to be different from targeted values. This study aims to determine the accuracy of a novel technique using adigital protractor and a spirit level to improve surgeons’ estimation of stem anteversion. Methods: A prospective non-randomized study was conducted a...
متن کاملCementless femoral fixation in total hip arthroplasty.
Cementless femoral fixation by means of bone ingrowth has been successful in total hip arthroplasty in patients with sufficient bone quality. Consistent bone ingrowth and resultant long-term success involve many factors, including surgical technique, initial mechanical stability achieved at time of implantation, stem design and material, and implant surface. One potential method for achieving f...
متن کاملCementless Femoral Fixation in Total Hip Arthroplasty
In 1995, the NIH (National Institutes of Health) Consensus Development Panel on Total Hip Replacement supported the use of hybrid fixation with a cemented stem and a noncemented cup because of excellent long-term results. However, today, 60% to 90% of the approximately 200,000 total hip arthroplasties performed yearly in the United States involve both a cementless cup and a cementless stem. The...
متن کاملDistal femoral stem-bone anchorage of a cementless revision total hip arthroplasty
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE According to the manual of the cementless Link MP reconstruction prosthesis, a distal femoral stem-bone anchorage of at least 80 mm is necessary to gain implant stability. There have been no in vivo studies showing that this distance is either achieved in clinical practice or needed for clinically satisfying results. Thus, we assessed the femoral stem-bone anchorage of th...

OBJECTIVE To observe the accuracy of femoral preparation and the position of the cementless prosthesis in femoral cavity, and to compare the results between the computer-assisted surgical group (CASPAR) and the conventional group. METHODS Ten femoral components were implanted either manually or by CASPAR in cadaver femurs. The specimens were cut to 3 mm thick slices. Microradiograms of every ...
